The market of Sidi Bouabid takes its name from a famous Moroccan saint, and is adjoined to the famous mosque of the same name, built in 1917.

It is located in the medina of Tangier, the historic old town, and is one of the traditional markets of the city.

The reconstruction project for the upgrading of this urban market close to home, consists in keeping the spirit of this place developed around a central patio and to reconstruct in the same way these 3 facades «centenary» and accessible by the Place du 9 Avril.

A Jbalas market, an activity integrated with the former Sidi Bouabid market, will be set up in the adjacent open air garden under light structures. 

This market will be served by 3 levels of underground parking to relieve the need for parking in the area.
